E & H 's Wedding

Yesterday, K and I had the privilege of attending our good friends E & H 's wedding. It was more fun than you could shake a stick at. Here are some pictures of the beautiful bride and groom and the wedding party that followed.

Super Dog

Around two years ago today we adopted a normal dog. At least we thought he was normal. During the day he is Frasier, mild-mannered full-time napper, but at night he turns until SuperDog with the ability to leap over buildings.

It's All White....

Recently Michael Vick was indicted for the crime of dog fighting and mostly likely he will go to prison for it. The sad thing is that he went from making 30 million a year to making licenses plates. But what I don't understand is how the LA District Attorney is not going to charge Lindsay Lohan with drug use and possession when they found the drugs in her pocket? The first time the drugs were found in her car and the second time they found the drugs in her pocket. The drugs were in her front pants pocket and her explanation was "it's not mine". But I guess that's all "white".

Something is gravely wrong with our justice system. We need to hold everyone to the same standard whether they are a movie star, rock star, sport athlete or John Doe. Justice is said to be blind but I guess in LA they gotten her a pair of color contacts.

Anniversary Cruise

A few weeks ago my wife and I went on a cruise for our anniversary.
It was our first time on a cruise and we had a wonderful time.
Some of the islands we visited were St. Thomas and Tortola.
We wanted to share with you some of the wonderful beaches and images from our trip.
Enjoy because we sure did.

Prayers for Virginia Tech.

Over the past weekend, K and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. But today our joy continues to turned into sadness and sorrow after what happened at Virginia Tech University on Monday. By God's mercy, no one in our family was directly affected by the incident. But both K and I have countless friends and family who have attended Virginia Tech or is an alumni.

Personally, I can recall the numerous times I have visited VT to visit friends or to watch a football game during my college years. West AJ was a place I often crashed with friends while I visited.

As rest of the world watches as the TV news slowly unfolds the truth of what happened. We are so directly sadden because Virginia is our home and our community. The families that were directly affected by this tragedy were our neighbors and our friends.

We want to take this time to pray for our friends who have lost someone. We want to ask God to comfort them in this time of grief. And we want to remind the rest of our family and friends to live their lives the best they can because we never know when God will call us to join him.

God Bless.

Happy Lunar New Year. Year of the Golden Pig.

We want to wish everyone a happy new year filled with happiness, joy and prosperity.
Chuc Mung Nam Moi !

For Vietnamese People the new year is called "Tet".

Tet, which means the first morning of the first day of the new year, is the Vietnamese New Year. The celebration lasts for 7 days. Like the Chinese, the Lunar New Year is one of the most celebrated holidays.
Preparation for Tet starts weeks before New Year's Day. Homes are cleaned to get rid of bad fortune associated with the old year. Families paint their homes to give it a new look. Everyone gets new clothes and new shoes. Pay your debts and resolve differences between family and friends.
A special ceremony called Le Tru Tich is held at the mid-night hour (Giao Thua) on New Year's Eve. The ritual involves firecrackers and gongs and other festive items that make loud noises to usher out the old and welcome the new.
Like the Chinese, Vietnamese people are very careful about what they do on New Year's Day. The events on New Year's Day determine your luck for the rest of the year. Therefore, everything and everyone you are in touch with on New Year's Day should symbolize good fortune. Don't visit people who are in mourning because they are associated with death. Children should not fight or cry on New Year's Day. Homes are decorated with Hoa Mai, a yellow blossom that represents spring.

Family members exchange gifts and pay homage to the Kitchen God. They also visit local temples to pray for prosperity and good health.

During Tet, Vietnamese families plant a New Year's tree called Cay Neu in front of their homes. A bamboo pole is often used as a Cay Neu. All the leaves are removed from the tree so that it can be wrapped or decorated by good luck red paper. Legends have it that the red color scares off evil spirits. On the seventh (the last) day of Tet, the Cay Neu is taken down. This is the last ritual of the New Year celebration.

Happy Valentine's Day

We got ice and snow the day before Valetine's day here in DC. So Frasier and I, had to be very creative when it came to getting something for K. Our only option was the local CVS. LOL

Love is not easy to find, understand or to define. That is what I think makes it so wonderful. Frasier is in love with peanut butter biscuits and rawhide bones. Sometimes I think the dog is luckier than us. LOL

Happy V-Day to all.
