Next we went to the Halles du Gare which is the area around the train station. Here there are all kinds of fun food stalls and one of them is Boulangerie Premiere Moisson where we ate lunch. This bakery is a famous bakery in Montreal that is famous for their fresh bread and other baked goods. The original store is in another part of Montreal but now they have several outposts. Will and I got a sandwich and some desserts to share and it was delicious! After that we got another bagel, this time from another famous bagel shop, called Fairmont. I'm definitely going to miss these Canadian bagels!!
On the way home, we stopped by an art exhibit at CinemaTech de Québécois. It was an exhibit of the art around FantasiaFest's 20 years. So they had the posters from the past 20 film fests on display along with other personal works of some of the artists. It was pretty cool to see how the work progressed through the years!
After that, we stopped by our AirBnB apartment, got our stuff and headed to the airport! While waiting for our layover to Toronto, Will and I had one last Canadian snack: An iced cap from Tim Horton's and Ruffles with a strictly Canadian flavor, "all dressed." The chips were delicious and were a tasty mix of salt and vinegar and BBQ.
While we had a great time in Montreal, we are ready to head home. Here are my final thoughts about Montreal:
1. People are super friendly and laid back. While they are definitely a francophone country and Quebecois is first, they are super accommodating about speaking English and are super nice. Everyone is legitimately bilingual and I think that's awesome.
2. Montreal loves their food and I love that. The food here is awesome. Every meal we have had has been amazing. There are also so. many. restaurants.
3. My husband couldn't be more different than me but he is so awesome. He picked three super weird and quirky movies for us to watch and I loved them all. Who knew I'd love a film fest so much?!? He's also the best planner and found so many fun things to do and places to eat in between. I'm so lucky I get to take him home with me. I'm the luckiest.
