From here, we walked by Ho Chi Minh Square, the Saigon Opera House, and Nguyen Hue Street (which has various restaurants and coffee shops). We stopped and had various treats as well as Vietnamese coffees. We've had a lot of them on this trip!
Next we made our way back to Banh Mi Hong Hoa. Now they were open and there was a long line which made me think the reputation I had heard was true. However, upon getting one and trying it, we were not fans. I'm sure it's more authentic and delicious to the Vietnamese people, but Will and I are much bigger fans of the banh mi in the States. While our pork at home is a strange red color, it way more flavorful and has a regular meat texture, unlike the luncheon meat in the sandwiches here. I'm glad we tried it but no thanks!
Our day was wrapping up but we made one last stop at the Ben Tranh Market. This time we stopped and had dinner at the Ben Tranh Food Market which is a newly built area with all of these hipster food stalls. We had a quick dinner here before heading back to grab our bags and heading to the airport. It was time to make our way to Hanoi!
*Here were are waiting at the airport. Enjoying some lounge access and of course, Will taking pics of all types of craziness. He has a special affinity for the feet pictures.
