Last day in Paris

So today is our last day in Paris. We got up early to check out Notre Dame Cathedral. I wanted to check out Berthillion ice cream on the Isle but there wasn't time. Oh well. God knows I have had plenty of desserts and other treats.

Then, we went back to the apartment to check out. Since we weren't leaving until the evening, we had to take all of our stuff to Gare d'Austerlitz where we'd be departing for Barcelona later at night. We locked up all of our back packs in big lockers and then headed to the Champs Élysées area for lunch. We had lunch at a place known for steak frites which was pretty darn delicious!

After lunch, we walked around and did some shopping. We went to Louis Vuitton, La Duree for macaroons, and Longchamp.  After shopping, we headed over to the Montemarte area to see where the Moulin Rouge was. We also walked over to the nearby Sacre Coeur church where we took in some nice views of the city.

Now it was soon time for us to get on our night train so we headed back over to the Austerlitz station. Here we had our last dinner as a group of 8 because Jennifer and Ship were ending their trip in Paris and heading home. We said our goodbyes and then the rest of us got on the Trenhotel night train for Barcelona. The night train bunkers are small rooms of 4 beds (2 sets of bunk beds) so it was an interesting experience. In the morning, we'll wake up in Barcelona!
