Europe, I don't remember having to wait in any lines for museums but for this trip, everything has had a long wait. We got there "early" and there was already a 4 hour wait! It probably didn't help that being the first Sunday of the month, admission was free. Luckily, I had read online about a Southeast entrance that was less popular and after going there, we only had to wait about 45 minutes. And while we were waiting, I got to pet a sweet little pug that was running around the grounds. He was so sweet and made me miss my little Thug-a-lug!!! I have officially become one of the crazy pug people at approach us when we have Thugsley at the airport.
Anyways, once in the Louvre, we went and saw all the major works of art. The museum is super long so we could stay there all day but we had other sites to see!
After the Louvre, we all had a quick lunch together before splitting up. Everyone wanted to go to Versailles but since I had already been there and Will wasn't interested, we decided to stay in town. Will had some sneaker shops he wanted to hit up and so we just decided to continue exploring. We went to Musee d'Orsay which also happened to be free. They have a really large collection of Impressionist art which is my favorite so it was fun to recognize so many pieces. Here's just a few...
From there we went to the Lovers Lock Bridge where we added a lock for our love to the collection.
We also just walked around the Tulieries garden where there was a carnival going on. We were exhausted from all of our walking that we we to a nearby cafe and had a Croque Madame sandwich as a snack before meeting back up with the family.
Later that night we went to dinner in the St. Germaine area where I had delicious sea bass. Then we went to see the Eiffel Tower at night from a metro stop that was recommended by a friend of my cousin Velma.
From there, we headed home. We had to take a cab home because we missed the last metro train for the night. It has been an extremely long day- goodnight!
